# DBIS - Browse all BI databases

[DBIS (*Datenbank-Infosystem*)](https://dbis.uni-regensburg.de/dbinfo/fachliste.php?bib_id=biuas&colors=7&ocolors=40&lett=l) is an index of all research databases available to the Bi community.

Students and faculty at BI have access to hundreds of research databases from several different sources. Thanks to [DBIS](https://dbis.uni-regensburg.de/dbinfo/fachliste.php?bib_id=biuas&lett=l&colors=&ocolors= "https://dbis.uni-regensburg.de/dbinfo/fachliste.php?bib_id=biuas&lett=l&colors=&ocolors="), all databases can be browsed by subject or title, and accessed from one interface.

At BI we have access to databases provided by the [Nationallizenz (DFG)](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationallizenz "https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/nationallizenz") and our partnership with [Bahçeşehir University](http://library.bahcesehir.edu.tr/en/kampus-disi-erisim/ "http://library.bahcesehir.edu.tr/en/kampus-disi-erisim/"); plus a growing number of open-access resources. While wonderful to have access to such a large number of resources, it can be inconvenient to try to sort out what is available.

That's where DBIS comes in. [DBIS was developed by the University of Regensburg](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datenbank-Infosystem "https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/datenbank-infosystem") to address just such a problem and is continuously maintained by the ~350 member libraries. Indeed, you may recognise the DBIS interface since it is used by nearly all German university and regional libraries.
