DBIS (Database Index) - Browse All BI Databases

Explore the hundreds of research databases available at BI in one index

Students and faculty at BI have access to hundreds of research databases from several different sources, but until now there wasn't one place where they were all collected.

Now, thanks to DBIS, all databases can be browsed by subject or title, and accessed from one interface. Give it a try, but please be patient; there are still some bugs that need to be worked out. The official launch is planned for the beginning of the next term.

TL;DR

At BI we have access to databases provided by the Nationallizenz (DFG) and our partnership with Bahçeşehir University; plus a growing number of open-access resources. While wonderful to have access to such a large number of resources, it can be inconvenient to try to sort out what is available.

That's where DBIS comes in. DBIS was developed by the University of Regensburg to address just such a problem and is continuously maintained by the ~350 member libraries. Indeed, you may recognise the DBIS interface since it is used by nearly all German university and regional libraries.
